What is a STEM Spark?

A “STEM Spark” is the moment when curiosity becomes confidence.
When a girl sees possibility, grabs a tool, and thinks: “That could be me.”

With your support, SAfG gives girls that chance — to explore, to create, to build, to belong.

  • High-quality after-school STEM learning, even in under-resourced communities.

  • Inspiring women mentors who show girls someone who looks like them can succeed in STEM.

  • Safe, empowering experiences where curiosity is nurtured, confidence blossoms, and dreams grow.

  • A path from “spark” to future careers — engineers, scientists, coders, innovators.

 

SAfG runs hands-on, culturally responsive STEM programs for girls in grades TK–6 across the East Bay.

  • After-School STEM Workshops (coding, robotics, engineering, science)

  • Family STEAM Nights — engaging whole families and communities

  • Summer & Spring Camps — creative, exploratory, fun STEAM learning

  • Mentorship from women in STEM — building representation and belonging
